Before relocating to the UK in 2009, Cliff was consistently heralded as one of the real up-and-coming film composers in Australia. Amongst his many awards are an APRA Screen Music Award for The Creepy Crawleys, the Johnny Dennis award for Prep Rules, and a Queensland Short Film Festival award for his score to the film Black Fury. Credits include the indie hit film Undead, the animated children’s series FARMkids, the massive arena spectacle The Australian Outback Spectacular and recently the documentary about the making of the low-budget Australian film Samson & Delilah, which won the Camera d’Or prize at the 2009 Cannes film festival. Cliff’s music has been licensed and used in television productions and advertisements all over the world including recently on the US hit comedy show Saturday Night Live.
During his formative years, Cliff was fortunate enough to be mentored by some of Australia’s leading figures in music composition and production including Nigel Westlake (composer Babe, Miss Potter, Solarmax), composer Dr. Philip Bracanin, legendary music mixer and sound designer John Haeny (The Doors, Scent of a Woman), Mike Stavrou, and the Australian orchestration guru Robert Boughen.
